Where to Look

Model number tags or labels are typically located in one of the following places:

  • Inside or around the appliance door – Check the door frame, inner edges, or along the perimeter of the opening.

  • On the sides or rear panel – For units that are accessible, you may find the tag on the side or back.

  • Behind removable panels or drawers – Some appliances hide the model number inside utility drawers or behind access panels.

  • Underneath or inside covers – In some cases (like cooktops or small appliances), the tag may be found underneath the unit or a lid.

What You're Looking For

  • The model number is often on a metal or white sticker or plate, and may be labeled as "Model", "Mod.", or "M/N."

  • It’s different from the serial number (S/N), which is also usually listed nearby.

Refrigerator

  • Inside the refrigerator compartment, typically on a side wall near the crisper drawers.
  • Freezer section (especially for side-by-side or bottom-freezer units).

Oven / Range / Stove

  • Pull out the storage drawer at the bottom and look on the frame or side wall.
